Job Description / description de l'emploi

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for assisting in administering and managing the hotel's operation.  This includes associates, guests, and partner relationships; quality and Omni brand standard adherence, as well as developing and maintaining established financial targets. 

Qualifications / qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior hospitality leadership role
  • Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent education.
  • Strong operational background in Rooms and Food and Beverage
  • Experience having worked in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively lead a team.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter that can work independently, setting goals, targets and providing strategic direction.
  • Ability to work within set timelines and under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Aptitude to evaluate, analyze complex activities and/or information to develop or implement new practices.
  • Flexibility of work schedules. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and at various times of the day.
  • Detail oriented and must be well versed in the delivery of first-class products and service standards.
  • Must be up to date with latest industry trends and legal guidelines.
  • Must be proficient in various social media platforms.
  • Well versed in industry relevant programs such as: Microsoft office, Outlook, Opera, Delphi, Oracle, Micros.
  • Pay: $100,000- $140,000/annually. The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.

Responsibilities / responsabilités

  • Directs property operations of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager
  • Has direct oversight of all operational departments including Rooms, Spa, Food and Beverage, Engineering and Security
  • Mentors and supervises all operations department management teams and drives successful results by actively participating in day-to-day activities.
  • Works closely with and supports the other Executive Committee members in ensuring all employee relations, service standards and financial targets are met.
  • Leads all departments in creating a superior positive working environment to achieve high associate engagement results.
  • Champions’ customer service performance/reviews and enhances guest experiences.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring property forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitors property financial performance by driving revenues and maximizing cost performance to achieve optimum profitability.
  • Develops, reviews, and improves all key performance metrics.
  • Maintains close, ongoing, and positive communication with all property stakeholders and partners.
  • Assists in planning and attends all property meetings.
  • Is involved in the strategic planning and outlook of the property.
  • Maintains and adheres to all company standards.
  • Actively involved in the Hotel Sales process and participates in the promotion of the property.
  • Is an ambassador of the hotel and assists in positively promoting the property by regularly engaging in social media activities and attending local events.
  • Reviews and ensures compliance of all matters as they relate to federal, provincial, municipal/local laws as well as all Corporate OMNI standards.
