Job Description / description de l'emploi

This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel environment and providing excellent guest service.

Qualifications / qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • 4th Class Stationary certificate is an asset.
  • Appropriate Trade Certificates and post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic; experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and locks.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, weekdays, evenings, overnight and weekends.

Responsibilities / responsabilités

  • Under direction of the Chief Engineer, perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel.
  • Maintain accurate records on assigned tasks and ensure that all safety systems on equipment are operable.
  • Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, pumps, boilers and air handling system.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections on HVAC system, identify issues and initiate corrective actions.
  • Perform cooling towers and annual cleaning.
  • Perform annual cleaning of the domestic boilers, heating boilers, and the steam boiler.
  • Install and repair mechanical and electronic lock (Safelock), and mechanical closing devices.
  • Respond to guests, departmental requests and tasks generated through Synergy MMS.
  • Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team
