Job Description / description de l'emploi

The Revenue Optimization Manager will assist the Central Director of Revenue Management (CDRM) in the effective leadership and direction of the property revenue management practices, as well as directly oversee the reservations aspects of the department, including all operational relationships and communications within the hotel. This position will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of all strategies in all three revenue segments (group, transient and catering), as well as, directly oversee the reservations team. No-show, late cancellation and other attrition revenue sources will also be included in the evaluation of overall performance. Success is determined through improvement in our revenue performance as compared to that of our defined competitors, increases in reservations service scores, and overall RevPAR growth. Absolute efficiency should be achieved and maintained consistently. This position is intended to be a developmental position for those interested in the Director of Revenue Management career path, focused on advancing analytical and technical abilities. Relocation at the conclusion of a pre-determined 18-24 month period should be expected.

Qualifications / qualifications

  • Must have the ability to satisfactorily communicate in written and spoken English with clients and associates to their understanding.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and be able to work efficiently in various electronic database programs. Experience in Opera PMS, ORS, DELPHI FDC, OTA Extranets and SQL Server Reporting is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of revenue management, reservations or group housing experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is required. Supervisory experience within the hospitality industry preferred
  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred.


Responsibilities / responsabilités

  • Assist the CDRM in monitoring and analyzing demand patterns. 
  • Assist CDRM in setting strategy to fill hotel occupancy utilizing demand and pattern management. 
  • Assist the CDRM in monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of restrictions and other selling strategies. 
  • Assist the CDRM in monitoring and analyzing daily future turndowns and lost business to maximize revenue and occupancy. 
  • Assist CDRM in maintaining inventory and parity rate controls on all third party websites.
  • Assist the CDRM in producing a 3 month rolling forecast. 
  • Produce and distribute a 11 day operations forecast. 
  • Manage and maintain all FIT reservations, production and collection efforts while maintaining the contracts as the hotel liaison for all FIT accounts. 
  • Manage/access all housing group pick-up reports. Produce and distribute Group Pickup Report.
  • Provide directional feedback on group block pick-up and slippage. 
  • Audit group resumes prior to the group arrival. Audit routing, notes and other details to ensure flawless group rooming list maintenance. 
  • Run Groups Approaching Cutoff meeting, ensuring patterns, over-block, and low pickup situations are addressed. 
  • Attend and participate in weekly RevMerch, Sales and RevMax meetings. 
  • Actively participate at weekly RevMerch meeting reporting out on transient pace. 
  • Actively participate at Daily Business Review with Sales and Catering Sellers and Sales Leaders.
  • Attend monthly credit meeting to ensure group billing, no show revenue and special package rates are posting correctly. 
  • Meet with meeting planners as necessary and attend pre-convention meetings in the absence of the Group Reservations Coordinator. 
  • Be the active contact with all operational departments including participation in “staff” and “ops” meetings and act as the revenue/ reservations department representative. Ensure all relevant meeting material is disseminated to the reservations/ sales department associates. 
  • Conduct/Chair the RevMerch meeting in the absence of the CDRM. 
  • Ensure Front Office Associates are able to describe all hotel accommodations and effectively sell Royal Club upgrades and Suites. 
  • Ensure that the operational team has all of the tools needed to quickly identify and produce package offers flawlessly.
  • Be the telephone and email “point of contact” for the reservations management questions including: rate offers, date change issues, ESP rate availability questions/calls, late cancellation/no-show and other fee waiver consideration. 
  • Oversee accurate input of reservations into the system from internal and external sources. 
  • Ensure that all calls and emails are acknowledged on a timely basis to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that all definite group bookings and addendums are accurately entered as they are received for a 3 year horizon; all groups with a 1 year horizon are to be completed within 1 business day of turnover.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel services and events.
  • Maintain an efficient and professional working environment with open communication.
  • Maintain strong interdepartmental communication particularly with the Convention Services, Front Office and Accounting teams.
  • Maintain strong communication lines and relationship with Omni CRO for packages, hotel detail, special promotions, access exclusion management, etc.
  • Monitor room type availability in ORS and OPMS for straight line sell through. 
  • Ensure group commissions are processed within 3 business days after checkout and assist Accounting with research on miscellaneous Travel Agent requests on commissions past due.
  • Assist with ESP account management.
